Kings' Ty Lawson: Expects to meet with team officials
Lawson is expected to meet with Kings officials after missing the team flight to Washington for Saturday's preseason game against the Wizards, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Lawson also reportedly showed up late for a team shootaround in Las Vegas last week, so it's clear that management is displeased by the point guard's lack of professionalism. He's in line to replace Darren Collison in the starting lineup for the first eight games of the season while Collison remains under suspension, but that plan could change if the Kings aren't satisfied with Lawson's explanation. If that's the case, Lawson could be placed under a team-imposed suspension or even get waived, as his contract for 2016-17 isn't fully guaranteed.
