Hawks' Paul Millsap: Will make preseason debut Sunday

Millsap (illness) is set to make his preseason debut Sunday versus the Magic, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

The veteran big man underwent a non-surgical right knee procedure in late September that has held him out of training camp, and has recently been battling an illness. The Hawks are unlikely to insert him into a preseason lineup unless they were sure of his health, so this news is certainly cause for optimism regarding Millsap's status heading into the regular season. He will work to build a rapport with Dwight Howard in the frontcourt early on, as his usual running mate, Al Horford, departed to the Celtics in the offseason.
