Three-time NBA champion, four-time league MVP, 12-time All-Star, and ... world historian?

LeBron James has accomplished quite a bit since entering the NBA straight out of high school, and eventually wants to add "earning a college diploma" to his long list of feats.

At the moment, however, he's fairly busy preparing to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers in their title defense, running a foundation that puts kids from his hometown through college, producing TV shows, appearing in films, and spending time with his friends and family.

James, 31, plans to pursue a degree when his workload eases up.

"I'm signed up at the University of Akron for whenever I'm able to get a little bit of down time. That's always been a conversation that took place to take some college courses, take some classes," he told Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.

"So right now I just do a lot of reading, book reading, and obviously I'm around some really good people that I kind of take their knowledge and sort it into my mind."

The Ohio native has a connection with the University of Akron, as his foundation pays for inner-city children who meet certain requirements to enroll there, and helps put them in position to graduate.

So what does King James want to study?

"I love world history, just the history of how everything was put together," he said. "I love that part of things, and people that founded the world, made this world such a beautiful place. I'm pretty fond of that.

"I love when I go around, obviously every summer traveling places, and it's kind of unique to see how we kind of built things. Who kind of ruled places at certain points of time. It's pretty cool."

Who better to immerse himself in history than a man whose name is all over the NBA history books?
