Rockets' Patrick Beverley: Reportedly feeling better

Beverley (knee) indicated that he's feeling better and expects to be reevaluated later this week, Calvin Watkins of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Beverley saw the floor in the Rockets' preseason opener against the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks back on Oct. 2, but he's been held out of the team's last three games. That has allowed coach Mike D'Antoni to break in James Harden as a full-time point guard, which has yielded impressive results. It's still expected that Beverley will take back a spot in the starting five upon returning, but more ball-handling responsibility figures to fall to Harden this season, with Beverley potentially seeing more work at shooting guard. It seems unlikely that Beverley would be cleared in time to play in Saturday's preseason tilt with the Grizzlies, but if his evaluation goes well, he could be an option for the Rockets' remaining two exhibitions.
