Utah Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward is expected to miss time after dislocating a finger on his left hand, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Hayward will be re-evaluated in three weeks, but is expected to miss six weeks, Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports. The Jazz are reportedly in the process of determining Hayward's next steps.

The injury occurred when Hayward got his finger stuck in a teammate's jersey, a league source told The Salt Lake Tribune's Tony Jones.

The former first-rounder played 22 minutes in Utah's latest preseason contest, totaling 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals on 6-of-9 shooting.

The 26-year-old is coming off his best season, averaging 19.7 points, five rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals in 80 games for the Jazz in 2015-16.

With Hayward out, reserve swingman Joe Johnson could see time as the starting small forward.

The Jazz play the Clippers on Monday at Staples Center.
