Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson: Will miss next two preseason games

Thompson (foot) has been ruled out for the Cavaliers' next two preseason games, Chris Haynes of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Thompson sat out Wednesday's game against the Magic after experiencing stiffness in his left foot, and the Cavaliers will continue to act cautiously by holding him out for games Saturday and Monday against the 76ers and Hawks, respectively. Unless the injury lingers deep into the upcoming week, it's probably too early to get overly concerned about Thompson's health, as he still has about three weeks to recover before the start of the regular season. He took over as the Cavs' starting center late last season and through the playoffs and will open the 2016-17 campaign in that role again if health permits. Chris Andersen will see increased run in the next two preseason games while Thompson sits out.
