Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Won't play in preseason opener

Irving (rest) won't play in Wednesday's preseason opener against the Magic, Chris Fedor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis:

While coach Tyronn Lue confirmed that the Cavaliers are completely healthy, Irving will be held out as the team attempts to limit his workload during the preseason. All indications are that LeBron James and Kevin Love will both play Wednesday, but it's likely both players will receive nights off later in the exhibition schedule.
