Clippers' Alan Anderson: Misses practice with ankle injury

Anderson is nursing an ankle injury and was held out of Thursday's practice, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Analysis:

Clippers coach Doc Rivers labeled Anderson's absence a precautionary measure, so he's likely just dealing with some minor soreness related to his left ankle, which required a pair of surgeries last season. It doesn't sound like Anderson is dealing with an especially serious setback, but because of his history of ankle problems, it makes sense for the Clippers to hold him out as a safeguard. He should be back on the practice floor within a few days and continue to compete for the starting small forward role with Luc Mbah a Moute and Wesley Johnson.
