Rockets' P.J. Hairston: Signs training camp deal with Rockets

Hairston signed a training camp contract Thursday with the Rockets, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

Hairston split the 2015-16 campaign between the Grizzlies and Hornets, but saw the majority of his action in Charlotte, where he started 43 of the 48 games and averaged 6.0 points and 2.7 rebounds over 19.5 minutes per outing. The Rockets are lacking in depth on the wing, which could enhance Hairston's case for making the roster, but he's unlikely to see meaningful playing time after a pair of uninspiring seasons to begin his career. Over 111 NBA games, Hairston has shot 34.3 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from three-point range.
