Trail Blazers' Meyers Leonard: Limited participant in practice

Leonard (shoulder) was a limited participant during Tuesday's practice, Mike Richman of The Oregonian reports.

Analysis:

As expected, Leonard was held out of contact in the Blazers' first practice of camp, and that's expected to continue to be the case for the better part of the next two weeks. The team said Monday that it's hoping to have Leonard resume contact activity by Oct. 8, meaning his status for the start of the regular season shouldn't be in any jeopardy. Leonard was able to participate in the three-on-three portion of Tuesday's session.
