Pacers' Myles Turner: Could miss a few days of camp
Pacers coach Nate McMillan said Monday that Turner entered the NBA's concussion protocol after taking an elbow to the head during a recent scrimmage, Nate Taylor of the Indianapolis Star reports.
Analysis:
Turner is still dealing with the concussion-like symptoms, so it's unclear when he'll be given the green light to participate in training camp. In recognition of the fickle nature of concussions, McMillan said Turner could be cleared as early as Tuesday, but there's also a chance he could miss a handful of days if symptoms persist. Regardless, the issue shouldn't impact Turner's availability for the start of the preseason. In addition to relaying the news that Turner had suffered a concussion, McMillan also relayed that the second-year big man would start at center, ending any speculation that Turner would have to compete with Al Jefferson for the gig.
