Look: J.R. Smith seemingly demonstrates frustration with Cavs using puppy
J.R. Smith apparently wants the world to know he's not a happy camper, as he remains without a contract to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The seemingly disgruntled shooting guard posted an Instagram photo Monday of his dog, Cowboy, lying under a sofa chair, using the hashtag, #mood.
Smith will reportedly skip the team's minicamp in California later this week, as negotiations remain at a standstill. Since no other teams have come forward with serious offers, management seems unwilling to pay Smith a large sum with the market all but dried up.
The 31-year-old opted out of his $5.3-million player option to become an unrestricted free agent for the second year in a row, and just like in 2015, he's forced to play the waiting game as training camp draws near.
Smith's averaged 12.4 points on 41.5 percent shooting, along with 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his first full year with the Cavaliers.
