Pistons' Nikola Jovanovic: Signs contract with Pistsons

Jovanovic signed a contract with the Pistons on Wednesday, Paul Garcia of Project Spurs reports.

Analysis:

After leaving USC early as a junior, Jovanovic went undrafted in June, but was able to latch on with Lakers' summer league team. He didn't provide much production during that time, however, averaging 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in under seven minutes per game. Despite that underwhelming showing, the 6-foot-11 big man will get a token shot at a roster spot with the Pistons, but it's highly likely he's just being evaluated for a spot with the team's D-League affiliate in Grand Rapids.
