Watch: Larry Sanders reflects on life after basketball
Larry Sanders chose health and happiness when he retired from the NBA at the age of 26, and he isn't looking back.
The former Milwaukee Bucks rim-protector cited anxiety and depression as factors that prompted him to ditch a financially lucrative career in basketball last season.
In his new life as an artist, the always eloquent Sanders is much happier.
"I've done a lot. I haven't had a chance to rest since I've retired. I manage some artists, I started my fashion line, I manage a photographer, I've started my album now, my body of work. I've been able to produce for some good names, write some music.
"I see longevity, to invest your time into something - a career that you are going to do for 50 years - just makes a little more sense. Because no matter what you do as an athlete, you're going to be doing something else for the majority of your life," Sanders said.
