76ers' Brown: Joel Embiid on track for preseason debut
Tortured Philadelphia 76ers fans have waited two arduous years to see Joel Embiid on the hardwood.
A perpetually broken foot has kept Embiid on the sidelines, but the Sixers' international man of mystery is making tremendous progress in his recovery, and is on pace for a preseason debut.
Head coach Brett Brown confirmed Embiid's status in a recent episode of "The Lowe Post" podcast.
"Yes he is," Brown defiantly answered when host Zach Lowe asked for confirmation on Embiid's timeline to return in preseason.
Up until now, Sixers fans have only been privy to snippets of the No. 3 pick in the 2014 draft. Several videos have emerged featuring Embiid throwing down dunks, and draining jumpers, but they've yet to see him in action.
Barring any setbacks, they'll only have to wait another six weeks. Preseason begins Oct. 4.
