The New York Knicks announced the signing of undrafted shooting guard Ron Baker on Monday.

Terms of Baker's contract were undisclosed, but ESPN's Ian Begley relays that the Knicks likely guaranteed a portion of the deal.

Baker played with the Knicks during Orlando Summer League, where he proved himself worthy of a closer look by averaging 14 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.8 steals per game.

The 23-year-old was a key figure for Wichita State over his four-year collegiate career. He wasn't highly recruited, but made himself into a fan favorite by playing stingy defense and developing into a well-rounded offensive player.

The Knicks are in need of a third-string point guard to provide depth behind Derrick Rose and Brandon Jennings.
