Trail Blazers' Shabazz Napier: Plays sparingly in summer

Napier averaged 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 15.0 minutes per game across two Las Vegas Summer League appearances.

Analysis:

Napier's summer league was cut short courtesy of a left shoulder sprain he suffered in the Blazers' second game. The injury denied him an opportunity to make a compelling case for third-point guard duties behind Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, but the former Connecticut standout will still enter training camp as the clubhouse leader for those duties. Undrafted rookie Tim Quarterman represents Napier's main competition for a roster spot.
