If The Jet is going to take off for another season in the NBA, it won't be with the Houston Rockets.

During a recent appearance on Sirius XM's NBA Today, veteran shooting guard and unrestricted free agent Jason Terry told host Justin Termine that the Rockets have informed him that he won't be brought back.

Terry, 38, spent the last two seasons with the Rockets after being acquired in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets prior to the start of the 2014-15 campaign.

While it doesn't appear as though a number of teams are interested in acquiring his services, Terry believes he still has a few good years of basketball left in him before he hangs up his kicks.

"Not retiring at all," Terry told Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News. "Just looking for another opportunity to get back on a contender. But if that opportunity doesn't present itself, still being able to go in and have an impact in the locker room on the younger players and provide quality minutes off the bench. My body feels great. My mind is still sharp."

Terry made 72 appearances last season for Houston, averaging 5.9 points on 40.2 percent shooting, along with 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 17.5 minutes as a reserve.
