Pelicans' Cheick Diallo: Signs three-year deal with Pelicans

Diallo signed a three-year contract with the Pelicans on Wednesday, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

An extremely raw prospect, Diallo was selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft back in June. He saw less than 10 minutes per game in his lone collegiate season with Kansas, but has a ton of potential defensively thanks to a 7-foot-4 wingspan. Diallo is coming off an impressive summer league, during which he averaged 10.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 29.0 minutes per game over five appearances, but he's likely to see only a minimal role as a rookie with Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones on hand to absorb most of the minutes at power forward.
