Rockets' Chinanu Onuaku: Signs three-year rookie contract

Onuaku signed a three-year rookie contract Wednesday with the Rockets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Onuaku's contract is likely only partially guaranteed, but as the Rockets roster is currently constructed, he's tentatively in line to serve as the team's third-string center in 2016-17 behind starter Clint Capela and top backup Nene Hilario. The 19-year-old from Louisville finished off summer league play in Las Vegas last week, averaging 3.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 block across 21.2 minutes per game in his five appearances.
