Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Turns in strong LVSL performance

Russell averaged 21.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists in four Las Vegas Summer League games.

Analysis:

While his flashy style of play has drawn ire, Russell was the best player on the floor for a talented Lakers squad that also included 2016 No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram. Russell went for 20 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in the Lakers' opening game, a win over the Pelicans, and followed up with a 22-point outing in Game 2, which included a dramatic, game-winning three at the buzzer to beat the 76ers. Russell's shooting was impressive, knocking down 47.7 percent of his field goals and 40 percent of his threes, but if there's one concern it's that he posted 18 turnovers compared to only 16 assists.
