While many learned of Kevin Durant's free agency decision from The Players' Tribune early last week, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cameron Payne was stuck finding out as he scrolled through social media.

"I saw a picture on Instagram," Payne said on "The Herd" with Colin Cowherd, as quoted by Fox Sports' Aaron Torres. "I saw a picture of him, Steph (Curry), and Klay Thompson and it was like 'Splash Kings' or whatever. Something like that. That was the first time I saw anything."

Although Durant's decision to leave Oklahoma City hurt the Thunder's championship aspirations, Payne doesn't hold any ill will towards the seven-time All-Star.

"I'm pretty sure (Durant) made the decision that was best for him," Payne said. "That's what we all want. Just to make the decision that's best for you, you just want everyone to be happy. We weren't tripping about it, we just starting talking about; that's what makes a man, is how he deals with adversity. So we're going to see what we do this season. What we have."

Payne admits that while he was initially bothered by Durant's departure, he quickly realized the former MVP only did what was best for him.

"You can definitely get a little upset, but hey, you can't do nothing about it. It's his life, his decision, so I'm just happy for him."
