The Houston Rockets have agreed to a one-year, $2.9-million contract with free-agent big man Nene, The Vertical's Adrian WoIt'sjnarowski reports.

The reported deal fills a need for Houston, who was in need of another center after losing Dwight Howard to the Atlanta Hawks earlier in free agency.

When healthy, Nene serves as one of the most productive big men in the game. In 57 games this past season with the Washington Wizards, the 33-year-old averaged 17.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals on 54.4 percent shooting. The 6-foot-11 Brazilian should see his fair share of minutes given the Rockets' lack of size upfront.

Nene joins Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson as Houston's newest offseason additions.
