Eager to add more cap space, the Dallas Mavericks are reportedly exploring options to rid themselves of center JaVale McGee and his non-guaranteed $1.4-million salary for next season, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

The 28-year-old appeared in just 34 games for the Mavericks last season, averaging 5.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 10.9 minutes.

McGee's contract will become guaranteed if he's on the roster July 12, and MacMahon notes the Mavericks will likely trade him for very little return, or cut him.
