The Charlotte Hornets are looking to trade Spencer Hawes, reports The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, citing sources.

Charlotte is hoping to create cap room to acquire a center, and Wojnarowski lists Roy Hibbert as one of their targets.

The Hornets lost backup center Al Jefferson in free agency, which left a vacancy at the backup spot behind starter Cody Zeller. Based on the two names on their list, the Hornets seem to be looking for someone who can solidify the defense.

Hibbert struggled immensely in his lone season with the Los Angeles Lakers, but remains an effective deterrent at the basket. He averaged 5.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 23.2 minutes per game.
