Report: Wade's camp contacts Spurs, Mavs

Dwyane Wade's representatives have contacted the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks to notify them of the unrestricted free agent's availability, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported Wednesday on 790 AM.

Reports surfaced Tuesday that Wade was willing to listen to outside offers after contract talks with the Miami Heat saw little progress. However, there is belief that Wade is only willing to talk to other teams to create leverage with Miami, ESPN's Tim MacMahon reports, citing sources.

The Heat are reportedly pursuing Kevin Durant, which has likely stalled Wade's contract talks. Miami has just over $40 million to spend in free agency, and have four starters hitting the open market.

Both the Mavericks and Spurs would likely be thrilled to have a player of Wade's caliber, but may need to make a subsequent move should they land the 34-year-old. Both squads already have starting shooting guards locked up to long-term deals, and may have a difficult time finding a suitable role for them should Wade sign a deal in Texas.

Wade has spent all 13 of his professional seasons with Miami, collecting three championships, one Finals MVP, and over 20,000 points in South Beach.
