The Miami Heat have offered All-Star guard Dwyane Wade a two-year, $40-million deal with a player option in the second year, according to ESPN's Dan Le Batard.

Wade would earn $20 million flat each of the next two seasons, which is what he made on a one-year contract during the 2015-16 campaign.

The 34-year-old has reportedly been fielding offers from the likes of the New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls as the Heat placed their priorities elsewhere, including re-signing Hassan Whiteside and making a push for Kevin Durant.

Surprisingly enough, Wade has never been the highest-paid talent on his own team, and didn't seem willing to take another discount at this stage of his career. Throughout his discussions with other organizations, the three-time champion was reportedly looking at offers in the $20-million range, which is what the Heat currently have on the table for their cornerstone player.

At the risk of losing him, Miami appears to have doubled the $10 million per year it originally offered days ago, which is what led Wade, who has been in South Beach since going fourth overall in the 2003 NBA draft, to explore his options.

Wade averaged 19 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists last season in 74 appearances for the 48-34 Heat, who got to within one game of advancing to the Eastern Conference finals sans the services of both Whiteside and Chris Bosh.
