Some NBA teams have ruled high school prospect Thon Maker out of the first round of the draft because they believe he is between 21-23 years old - not 19 as documented - according to Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated and Liberty Ballers.

Maker is one of the wild cards of Thursday's proceedings. Able to circumvent NBA draft eligibility requirements by spending a post-grad year at his suburban Toronto high school, Maker has been on the radar of basketball observers since an impressive mixtape surfaced three years ago.

Measuring in at 7-foot-1 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan, he's been predicted to go anywhere from the top 20 to the second round. Maker, who moved to Canada after stops in the U.S. and Australia, is listed as being born Feb. 25, 1997, in Sudan.

Incidentally also in southern Ontario, a basketball player was exposed in April as being a 30-year-old man posing as a teenager playing for Windsor's Catholic Central high school, across the river from Detroit.
