Sacramento Kings backup point guard Darren Collison faces two charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, the Placer County District Attorney's Office announced Friday, according to CBS Sacramento.

The 29-year-old will face one count of domestic violence causing injury, and one count of domestic battery of a spouse.

Officers were called to a home in Granite Bay, Calif., on May 30 after a woman reported she was being assaulted inside.

At the time of his arrest on May 30, Collison was also booked for two misdemeanor warrants, totaling $7,500, for driving with a suspended licence.

He was released on $55,000 bail, and is due back in court July 11.

"We've been made aware of the situation," the Kings said in a statement on May 31. "The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information, and once all facts are known we will take appropriate steps."

In 74 appearances last season with the Kings, Collison averaged 14 points (48.6 percent shooting), 4.3 assists, and 2.3 rebounds.
