Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Plays effective complementary role in Game 6 victory

Irving tallied 23 points (7-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks over 39 minutes during Thursday's 115-101 victory over the Warriors in Game 6 of the Finals.

Analysis:

After helping spearhead the Cavs' attack for much of the previous three games, Irving took a slight step back Thursday as teammate LeBron James took over for large stretches. It was still a highly effective effort for the 24-year-old, who's now scored between 23 and 41 points in five of the series' six games. Irving has excelled across the stat sheet, even draining multiple threes in four straight. His contributions in Sunday's Game 7 will undoubtedly be pivotal to the Cavs' attempt to become the first team ever to overcome a 3-1 Finals deficit.
