It appears unlikely Steph Curry will receive anything more than a fine for throwing his mouthguard into the stands Thursday during Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

While players such as Amir Johnson and Udonis Haslem have received harsher penalties for throwing their mouthpieces at officials, the NBA has a history of simply handing down fines for those who tossed errant objects into the stands.

Here are four instances where it happened, and the penalties the players received:

Paul Pierce (Jan. 11, 2011)

After picking up two quick fouls to begin the first quarter, a frustrated Pierce flung his gum into the stands at Conseco Fieldhouse Arena in Indiana.

Penalty: $15,000 fine.

Aaron Brooks (Nov. 26, 2012)

After watching his team blow a 13-point fourth-quarter lead, Sacramento Kings point guard Brooks had trouble containing his emotions following the defeat, and threw his mouthguard into the crowd.

Penalty: $25,000 fine.

Enes Kanter (Dec. 9, 2014)

Immersed in an eight-game losing streak, then-Utah Jazz big man Kanter let his frustrations get the best of him during a regular-season game last season.

After being called for a travel, Kanter slammed the basketball to the ground before proceeding to throw his mouthguard into the stands. Amazingly, a fan was fortunate enough to catch the errant object.

Penalty: Immediate technical foul and later fined $25,000.

Austin Rivers (Oct. 29, 2015)

While returning to the bench during a regular-season game last October, Los Angeles Clippers guard Rivers appeared to let out his frustrations by flinging a seat cushion into the stands.

The errant cushion reportedly hit a fan, and Rivers later apologized for the mishap.

Penalty: $25,000 fine.
