Celtics have 7 or 8 targets for No. 3 pick
The Boston Celtics are keeping their options wide open when it comes to the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft.
With Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram the consensus top two picks, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said his team is mulling over a number of options with who they'll take with their first of eight picks in the draft.
"I've got a good idea when I talk to Danny and the front office about who they are really targeting and focused on, as far as, again, there's seven or eight guys," Stevens told reporters.
It's going to be an exceptionally busy and important draft for the Celtics. In addition to picking third overall, they own pick No. 16, 23, 31, 35, 45, 51 and 58.
"We've got so many picks that you can't stop there," Stevens said of focusing on No. 3. "Whether you're watching clips, individual clips or highlight films or whatever the case may be, what I like to do is I like to watch full-game footage, and specifically end-of-game footage on a lot of different guys. We have so many picks, any game you turn on, almost might include somebody, so it's pretty good."
Several mock drafts have linked a number of names to the Celtics at No. 3. Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss, Jaylen Brown, and Buddy Hield are all picked by numerous outlets.
