Steve Kerr's and Tyronn Lue's careers have come full circle as the two have gone from facing each other on the hardwood to facing each other on the sidelines.

The head coaches for the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, respectively, are set to face off against one another in the NBA Finals when Game 1 tips off Wednesday.

As the two prepare for the finals, Lue was reminded Tuesday of a photo of he and Kerr competing during their playing days in the early 2000s

"David Robinson and Kerr," Lue explained to Dave McMenamin of ESPN. "I'm going by Kerr and laying it up."

Lue played 11 seasons in the NBA for seven organizations before retiring in 2009 and joining the Boston Celtics as part of the team's player development team.

Kerr's career spanned 14 seasons and was part of five championship-winning teams. He took over as the Warriors head coach prior to last season despite previously serving as the general manager of the Phoenix Suns.
