Warriors-Thunder Game 6 is most watched game of NBA season
A record number of NBA fans tuned in to catch the Golden State Warriors even the Western Conference finals at 3-3 with a 108-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.
Game 6 at Chesapeake Energy Arena averaged a 7.9 household overnight rating, officially making it the highest-rated NBA game of the 2015-16 season, according to Turner Sports.
This year's Warriors-Thunder matchup is generating an average rating of 6.8, which is up 35 percent from the last time TNT aired the Western Conference finals in 2014 between OKC and the San Antonio Spurs.
The overnight rating is also 38 percent higher than Game 6 of the Thunder-Spurs series.
Klay Thompson put on a show shooting the ball in Game 6, scoring 41 points and nailing a playoff-record 11 3-pointers.
Game 7 goes down on Monday night at Oracle Arena, with the winner to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
