Report: Knicks interviewed Jeff Hornacek for coaching job

The New York Knicks' list of head coaching candidates has seemingly doubled in the past week or so.

The Knicks have interviewed former Phoenix Suns coach Jeff Hornacek for the vacant position, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

While the Knicks' coaching hunt initially seemed to be a two-horse race - between incumbent interim coach Kurt Rambis and former Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt - they now appear to be doing their due diligence with other available, high-profile skippers.

The Knicks also reportedly met with Frank Vogel last week.

However, the competition for both Hornacek and Vogel is stiff. Vogel reportedly resides near the top of many a coach-less team's wish list, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and Orlando Magic.

Hornacek has also been linked to the vacancies in Orlando and Houston, but another team has reportedly emerged in the quest for his services.

The Golden State Warriors are also interested in adding Hornacek to their staff, according to Stein. With top assistant Luke Walton set to depart for Los Angeles to take up the Lakers' head coaching job after this season, the Warriors will have a big hole to fill on the bench.
