Lowry takes blame for Game 4 loss: 'I let my team down'
Kyle Lowry was relegated to the sidelines in the dying minutes Monday as the Toronto Raptors missed a chance to take a stranglehold on their series with the Miami Heat.
Instead, the Raptors head home tied two games apiece after a 94-87 overtime loss in Game 4.
"Personally, I'm pissed," Lowry told reporters after the game. "We wanted to come in here and get two and we had an opportunity. But you know, we're going to look at the positives. It's a best of three and we got two at home."
Holding a 81-79 lead with 1:58 remaining in the fourth, Lowry fouled out after picking up his sixth off an offensive charge call. The Heat would tie the game in the dying seconds, and go on to win in overtime.
"I can't be in foul trouble," Lowry said. "I let my team down tonight. I take the loss for us on this one cause me not being on the floor hurt our team."
Miami outscored Toronto 15-6 after Lowry departed.
"Lucky for us, Kyle Lowry wasn't on the floor in the end," Heat guard Dwyane Wade said.
It's been a difficult postseason for the two-time All-Star. Despite leading the Raptors to a win in Game 3, Lowry was averaging 15.5 points on 34 percent shooting heading into Monday.
