Watch: Cavs survive frantic final possession to edge Hawks
Dale Zanine / USA TODAY Sports
The Cleveland Cavaliers barely escaped Atlanta with a 100-99 win and series sweep over the Hawks following a wild final seconds.
Clinging to a one-point lead, Cavaliers star LeBron James lined up with Dennis Schroder for a jumpball with 2.8 seconds remaining. James' significant height advantage over the Hawks point guard helped him tip the ball into the corner.
Paul Millsap attempted a desperation shot, but missed as time expired in the game and on Atlanta's season.
The win helped Cleveland improve to a perfect 8-0 this postseason, and advance to the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight year.
