There might be hope for Stephen Curry to return in Game 3 after all.

After ruling Curry out of Game 3 in a morning interview on Friday, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr clarified later in the day that there was a slight chance of Curry suiting up Saturday.

"Today was by far the best he looked," Kerr said. "He's made progress each day. He took part on the court in a practice today. We didn't scrimmage, but we did a lot of defensive work, five-on-oh, full-court shooting stuff.

"He took part in all of it and he looked much, much better than he did even two days ago. It's a great sign, but we still want to see him in a 3-on-3, a 5-on-5. I don't think that will happen by tomorrow at 5:30 Portland time."

Kerr was asked about his comments on "The Dan Patrick Show" when he ruled Curry out for Game 3 and left a "slight chance" for Game 4. He clarified to reporters that he meant Curry would "probably" be out in Game 3.

"I don't see him playing tomorrow," Kerr offered.

At the very least, it appears Curry is making steady progress in his recovery. And with the Warriors holding a 2-0 lead over the Portland Trail Blazers, there's very little pressure for the reigning MVP to rush his return.

Curry sustained a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee in the first round.
