Still no timetable for Curry's return, says Kerr

Stephen Curry is optimistic he'll play in Game 3 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, but Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr doesn't have a timetable yet.

"He's doing pretty well. ... He's making the improvement that we're looking for," Kerr said before Game 2 on Tuesday, according to the San Jose Mercury News' Tim Kawakami. "But he hasn't been on the floor with the team at this point. So hopefully that will come. I don't know when, though."

On Tuesday, Curry said he had received platelet-rich plasma treatment as part of his recovery.

The Warriors and Blazers have a three-day break between games, with Golden State up 2-0 after Tuesday's 110-99 win. That gap's been flagged as key recovery time for Curry's Grade 1 MCL sprain.

"The training staff will just tell me each day," the coach added. "I literally have no idea. But ... there is a nice gap in there and it would be great if he made enough progress to get on the floor with the team. But we'll just wait and see."

The Warriors continue to win without their MVP, a huge alleviation of any pressure to get Curry back on the floor. He essentially remains day to day, although the team won't rush him back. Poking fun at the constant questions regarding Curry's status, Kerr told reporters before Game 2 that while he wouldn't play, the team was upgrading him to doubtful "just to give people something to chew on."
