LeBron surpasses MJ in playoff wins
It's still no contest in terms of rings, but LeBron James finally overtook Michael Jordan in one category.
With the Cleveland Cavaliers taking Game 1 off the Atlanta Hawks, James recorded his 120th career playoff win, which moves him one ahead of Jordan's 119.
Jordan played 179 playoff games and won six titles in 13 playoff runs. Monday marked James' 183rd postseason game as he looks to win his third ring in 11 tries.
Last week, when James was asked about passing Jordan in postseason appearances, the 31-year-old offered a cheeky quip.
"He closed out series faster than me," James told Jason Lloyd of Ohio.com.
The difference between the two legends, however, can also be explained by James' teams consistently making prolonged playoff pushes. Although Jordan was a perfect 6-of-6 in The Finals, he was also bounced from the first round three times. James, on the other hand, has always made at least the conference semifinals.
James also leads Jordan in assists, rebounds, and blocks, while the greatest of all time holds the edge in points, steals, and, most importantly, championships.
