Former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott didn't foresee his recent dismissal from the franchise.

"I was a little blindsided by it," Scott said during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show. "It's one of those things that was unfortunate, especially for me. I had thought the situation that we had talked about a few years ago, that they knew that the situation basically was going to take a few years.

"They were giving me the knowledge that 'hey, we're with you. We're behind you. We know it's going to take two or three years to get this kinda turned around.' So I was a little blindsided by it."

Scott went 38-126 during his two-year stint with the Lakers, which just so happened to be the two worst seasons in the history of the organization (21-61, 17-65).

"I don't have any ill-will feelings against the organization. I still love the Lakers organization, and wish them all the best," Scott added.

He has since been replaced by Golden State Warriors assistant Luke Walton, who led the reigning NBA champions to a 39-4 start as Steve Kerr dealt with complications from offseason back surgery.
