Basketball Hall of Famer and former Atlanta Hawks star Dominique Wilkins was never able to get past the Eastern Conference semifinals during his tenure with the franchise, thanks in large part to the dynasty Boston Celtics.

The Hawks and Celtics squared off in the playoffs on three occasions during Wilkins' 12 seasons in Atlanta, with Boston pulling off the hat trick by advancing every single time.

Following Atlanta's victory in Game 6 on Thursday to close out their opening-round series with Boston, the nine-time All-Star took to Twitter to let everyone know how badly he wished he could have been on the floor late to soak in some of the glory he was never able to have against his rivals in Beantown.

The Hawks had been 0-7 in playoff series' against the Celtics since the team moved from St. Louis to Atlanta for the 1955-56 campaign.

Wilkins actually suited up in Celtic green and white for 77 games in 1994-95, averaging 17.8 points and 5.2 rebounds.
