The Sacramento Kings have officially named Ken Catanella as their assistant general manager.

Catanella has spent the past five seasons with the Detroit Pistons, working as both the director of basketball operations and assistant GM.

He'll serve as Sacramento's salary-cap specialist, while also supporting GM and vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac with personnel decisions.

"We are focused on building a winning team and part of that process is ensuring we have a sound front office structure," Divac said Thursday. "We are thrilled that Ken Catanella is joining the Kings to help us build on our progress and drive success on the court. Ken's unique statistical and player expertise will provide a significant boost to our basketball operations team."

Prior to his role with the Pistons, Catanella served as a graduate assistant with Duke's men's basketball team.
