LeBron compares self to 'a tank' after Game 2 win

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

While the Pistons inexplicably go on believing they're in LeBron James' head, James and his Cleveland Cavaliers are rolling into Detroit like a well-oiled machine.

Or maybe more "like a tank."

The Cavs matched an NBA playoff record with 20 3-pointers in Wednesday's Game 2 victory, with eight of the 13 players who touched the floor contributing to the barrage of treys. James knocked down two of those 20 himself, but the four-time MVP knows what his role is, and it's not as a specialist.

"We have shooters and they are designated snipers and I'm not one of them," James said following Game 2. "I'm more like a tank or something like that."

James has certainly played the part through two games, averaging 24.5 points, seven assists, six rebounds, 2.5 steals, and a block on 60 percent shooting. He's also logged 81 minutes of floor time as the Cavs have jumped out to a 2-0 series lead.

Game 3 goes Friday at the Palace of Auburn Hills, an arena that hasn't seen playoff basketball since another iteration of James' Cavaliers were completing a sweep of the Pistons seven years ago.
