Thirty years ago, NBA legend Michael Jordan posted one of the greatest performances in playoff history, dropping 63 points on the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Jordan's 63 still stands as the most points scored in a playoff game, narrowly beating out Elgin Baylor's 61-point performance in 1962.

While the Celtics would go on to win both the game and the series, Jordan's incredible showing ultimately served as a precursor of things to come, as "His Airness" would go on to become the most decorated player in NBA history.

"I think he's God disguised as Michael Jordan," Larry Bird following the game. "He is the most awesome player in the NBA. Today in Boston Garden, on national TV, in the playoffs, he put on one of the greatest shows of all time."
