Adams letting missed game-winner go 'like an ex-girlfriend'
Steven Adams had the game-winner in his hands as the clock wound down in Game 2 on Monday, but unfortunately for he and the Oklahoma City Thunder, time expired before the shot got off in time.
The missed opportunity allowed the Dallas Mavericks to come away with a 85-84 win, evening the series at a game apiece.
While the result was disappointing for the Thunder, Adams isn't lamenting the play a day later.
"Just try to let it go, treat it like an ex-girlfriend," Adams told Royce Young of ESPN. "Try to get rid of her. You know honestly, it's just one of those things where I know there's plenty more opportunities. That's not why we lost the game, there are so many other things before that that happened."
One of the reasons Oklahoma City lost despite being heavily favored was the fact that seven-time All-Star Kevin Durant missed 26 missed field-goal attempts and turned the ball over seven times.
The Thunder head to Dallas for Game 3 on Thursday.
