Sunday's showdown for regular-season greatness between the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs comes with a bit of ominous history for the Dubs; they haven't won a regular-season game in San Antonio since Feb. 14, 1997.

The season before finding his way out of Golden State for choking coach P.J. Carlesimo, Latrell Sprewell led the Warriors with 32 points in a 108-94 win.

It should be noted the Warriors triumphed in a playoff game at the AT&T Center on May 8, 2013, in a second-round series they dropped to the Spurs in six games.

The regular-season run of futility is noteworthy, however, because it's the longest active home winning streak by one team over another, and the second-longest in NBA history behind the Los Angeles Lakers' 43-game dominance over the Kings franchise from 1975-92.

So, it's worth remembering that on Feb. 14, 1997:

Stephen Curry was 8 years old

A month shy of his ninth birthday, video hadn't been logged yet of Curry's skills as a young baller. His father Dell, at this point, was playing for the Charlotte Hornets.

Tim Duncan was the best player in college basketball

Helped by franchise stalwart David Robinson playing a mere six games, the Spurs were stumbling through the only sub-.500 season they've had since 1989, racking up losses so they could draft Duncan in June. The "Big Fundamental" averaged close to 21 points and 15 rebounds as a senior at Wake Forest on his way to National Player of the Year honors and becoming the No. 1 pick.

Toni Braxton's 'Un-Break My Heart' was atop the charts

A little quiet storm for your Sunday.
