Jordan has been formally ruled out for Friday's game against the Jazz for rest purposes, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Analysis:

As expected, the Clippers will use Friday's game as an opportunity to get a number of regulars some extra rest. Joining Jordan in street clothes will be Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, Blake Griffin, and Wesley Johnson (feet). In Jordan's absence, Cole Aldrich figures to start at center and take on a much larger role, as was the case when Jordan rested against the Thunder a week ago. Jeff Ayres should also pick up some extra minutes off the bench.
