Will Barton netted 17 points, Danilo Gallinari scored 16 and Jameer Nelson tallied 12 points and nine assists off the bench for the Nuggets, who improved to 2-0 under interim head coach Melvin Hunt and won consecutive games for the first time since mid-January.

"We are having fun and enjoying the game," said Faried. "It seems like everyone is just clicking."

Andrew Wiggins and Gary Neal scored 20 and 13 points, respectively, while Kevin Garnett had 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting in Minnesota's fourth straight loss.

"We just didn't play enough with a sense of urgency," Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders said. "They were quicker to the ball."

With the game tied at 32-apiece early in the second quarter, Barton knocked down two shots from beyond the arc during a 14-0 burst that put the Nuggets in front 46-32.

Gallinari's dunk capped a dominant frame for Denver that made it a 60-43 game at halftime.

Minnesota came out of the break and scored the first eight points of the second half as a pair of Garnett jumpers made it a 61-51 game. Neal provided the Timberwolves' final eight points of the third and cut the deficit to 77-65 heading into the final frame.

The Nuggets led by at least nine points over the final 12 minutes.
