'Rumble' implores fighters to know when to retire

Having handed out plenty of knockouts in his time, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson has some advice for his fellow warriors.

The 33-year-old Johnson recently retired from MMA, despite looking like he had several productive years in the cage left. After watching UFC Fight Night 108 on Saturday, he wrote a Facebook post suggesting that some of the competitors who suffered bad breaks at the event consider following his example:

Watched some of the fights last night and I'll tell you this ... Know when to hang em up! If you've already been knocked out in about your last 5-6 fights isn't that your body saying "I've had enough"? I get that it's a macho, I have bigger balls than you sport but man some of these dudes are going to forget their name by the time they're 45.

Good luck with that...

Rumble is most likely referring to veterans Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger, who suffered two of the evening's ugliest KOs. Sanchez was punched out in 98 seconds by Al Iaquinta, while Ellenberger was left motionless by a thudding elbow from Mike Perry.

Neither man has given any indication that they plan to retire soon, but Johnson is doing his part to convince them to at least think about it.
